With a bit of luck the season will kick off on Saturday 16th October. Whilst the ongoing COVID restrictions have impacted our pre-season training, I am really pleased to see the preparation on and off the field to ensure we are ready when we do start.
We are really fortunate to have Scott Lindsay on board as coach and he is really keen to start working with our players. We have a number of new recruits to our senior mens playing group, helping to build the depth across the club.
Once again Trevor has the junior preparation well in hand and has the junior sub-committee and coaching appointments in place. We are looking for an U17’s coach – so let Trevor know if you are keen to get involved.
Our Senior Women are back again and was great to see a number of new players attending the first trainings session. I am looking forward to the continued development of both our womens and girls programs this season.
Ash and Kal have started work on the wickets and it was great to see the laser levelling on the centre square this week. We have also secured funding to replace the synthetic practice wickets and looking forward to getting that work done soon.
On the social side, it was great to be able to get together in between lockdowns at the Elephant to welcome Scott back to the club. Don’t forget to tune into Willo’s live face book feed of shark lotto and interviews with the club family each Wednesday at 7.30 pm. I am enjoying all of the social media updates over the past few months featuring players from across the club. Thanks to Melissa Rolfe and Carso for their work on these.
Can’t wait for the season ahead and seeing you all down at Shark Park.
Go Sharks
